Loser: Oklahoma Sooners (No. 5 to No. 10)
In a shocking upset, the Sooners fell on the road to Kansas State and dropped five spots to No. 10. Jalen Hurts, CeeDee Lamb and company did their best to form the comeback, but a heartbreaking onside kick attempt gave the win to the Wildcats and pushed the Sooners possibly out of the Playoff picture with the Baylor Bears sitting undefeated and with all those other undefeated teams sitting around the top.
Loser: Texas Longhorns (No. 15 to Unranked)
Now, after nearly losing to Kansas, I am not sure that the Longhorns deserved to be ranked. Of course, they were heading into Week 9 though. Now, after losing to TCU, the Longhorns are likely out of New Years Six contention and out of Big 12 contention as well. Sorry Longhorns, it’s not your year and you are in fact not back.
Loser: Wisconsin Badgers (No. 13 to No. 18)
Ohio State vs. Wisconsin. This was a game I was excited about when I thought both teams would be undefeated. However, after the Badgers fell to Illinois, this one seemed a little less exciting and it was for sure just that- disappointing. The Buckeyes blew past Wisconsin and with two losses the Badgers drop to No. 18. They still have Iowa and Minnesota on the schedule in terms of ranked matchups as well, so who knows how this team ends up after starting so strong.
Loser: Notre Dame Fighting Irish (No. 8 to No. 16)
The Irish still had an outside chance at the Playoff after a close loss to Georgia. However, after Georgia fell to South Carolina a week ago and with Notre Dame losing in a big way to Michigan this week, that dream is all but dead. Sorry, Notre Dame, you just don’t have a chance to make it this year even with the easier schedule for the last four games of the season.
