Scouting Report. leading 17-10 at halftime vs. Washington State. Oregon Ducks. player. 820. Pick Analysis. 11/2 at USC. 8

Oregon has its moments where they leave viewers uncomfortable about just where to rate the Ducks among the Top 25 lists. The AP Top 25 had Mario Cristobal’s crew on the cusp of the top 10 last week after they toppled Washington in Seattle. On their return home to Autzen Stadium, they faced another slugfest against Washington State in a game with huge Pac-12 North implications.

A missed extra point had Oregon down 10-9 midway through the second quarter, and that’s where it stood after the Ducks drove right back downfield and churned out a nine-play drive that yielded no points before halftime. But a pick-six on the ensuing Washington State drive put Oregon back in the lead 17-10 before halftime.

After Boise State fell late in Week 8 it is tough to call close games like this too early, especially for a favorite struggling to score points, but if the Ducks do win the divisional showdown against the Cougars they will be firmly embedded in the top 10 of the AP Top 25. If they lose, of course, Oregon is going to take a major tumble. Given Auburn also lost this week, the Ducks would fall somewhere into the mid-to-high teens within the range where Michigan, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, and Iowa are currently projected.
