Boise State Football: 3 keys to victory vs. San Jose State in Week 10
1. Stay solid on defense
The strongest unit for Boise State by far has been their defense. With one of the best pass rushers in the nation, the Broncos have played very well. The Broncos just could not stop BYU in their lone loss on the season on pivotal downs which they will have to turn around and fix against the Spartans.
BYU was 2/2 on fourth downs, although the Broncos were able to hold the Cougars to a 4/13 ratio on third downs. With the quarterback situation still up in the air for the Broncos, we should see the defense play another huge role in trying to get the win against SJSU. Keep an eye on the secondary to play better than they have in the first half of the season and force some turnovers.
Just as the turnovers have been a problem for the Broncos, the defense has also struggled to get any takeaways. The Boise State defense has only four turnovers coming all from interceptions on the year and has not been able to capitalize on big-time mistakes.
We should see a more aggressive Boise State team get after it on defense and take their game to the next level after a bye week to start the second half of the season.
