No. 14 Michigan at Maryland (12:00 p.m. ET – ABC)

Michigan has started to find its swagger again in recent weeks. After playing Penn State close and nearly forcing overtime, the Wolverines went back home and toppled Notre Dame from the ranks of the top 10 teams in the country. The reward for Jim Harbaugh’s team was a push back into the top 15 of the AP Top 25. Maryland opened the year 2-0 with the biggest point differential in the country. Now they have lost five of their past six games and need to pull off an upset against the Wolverines to have any shot at a bowl game, given Ohio State awaits the following week.

PREDICTION: Michigan rolls to a huge win to cover the 21-point spread in a rollover 56-14 rout in College Park that keeps the Wolverines alive in the top 15 of the first College Football Playoff rankings.

Houston at UCF (12:00 p.m. ET – ESPN2)

The last time Houston and UCF played one another, McKenzie Milton was a young quarterback for the Knights and Greg Ward Jr. was the starter for the Cougars. Now we have a duel between Dillon Gabriel and Clayton Tune, as a new era of college football keeps the spirit of renewal alive in the sport in its 150th anniversary season. The Cougars have played solid opponents close, losing by seven against Washington State and at Tulane and nearly toppling SMU last weekend at home. But they don’t have quite enough to hang with a UCF offense discovering its diversity in full.

PREDICTION: UCF gets tested by Houston, as the Cougars barely cover the 22-point spread as a huge road underdog but still find themselves suffering their sixth defeat of the year in a 49-28 loss .

Nebraska at Purdue (12:00 p.m. ET – FOX)

Last year, Nebraska lost 42-28 at home against Purdue. Now they head to West Lafayette hoping to avenge that loss and push one game closer to bowl eligibility. In Scott Frost’s second season at the helm, that is the measuring stick to see progress in Lincoln. But with this road trip, they encounter a Purdue team clinging to life support at 2-6 and hoping to win out and earn a postseason trip as well. The Boilermakers are a 3.5-point underdog at home, but they are going to make it two in a row against the Cornhuskers to remain on pace for a bowl game.

PREDICTION: Purdue upsets Nebraska as an underdog on their home turf, taking down the Cornhuskers 38-30 to keep alive their slim postseason hopes at the start of November.
