1. You can’t tackle what you can’t catch

The mascots for each team is more than appropriate. Both Tigers and Mustangs are fast animals. Both the Mustangs and the Tigers have killer speed.

Each team had their fair share of explosive plays. The Tigers had six plays of 20 yards or more including two big kick returns — one for a touchdown. The Mustangs had four plays of 20 yards or more that included a 68-yard touchdown run.

When you are as fast as each one of these teams are it gives you an opportunity to get chunk yards and score quickly, and you saw that in the second half. Both teams scored and scored quickly especially in the second half.

Even after the Memphis Tigers had a big third quarter, it was the ability of the Mustangs to score quickly that got them back into the game.
