The Horned Frogs are taking their lumps with freshman quarterback Max Duggan. Amid an up-and-down season, they now have to deal with fifth-year senior Alex Delton leaving the team. This move’s confusing since he doesn’t have anymore eligibility left. However, playing the young quarterback was the right move.

What’s puzzling this year about TCU is their defense hasn’t been as advertised. They’ve given up over 30 points three times this season and over 40 twice. Life’s easier when you have a defense you can lean on when your offense is trying to find its way.

Although Gary Patterson’s reputation for bounce back years isn’t going so well this season, going with your young talented quarterback will pay dividends next season.

This season might be a bit of a disappointment for Cyclone nation; they had high expectations in Ames. Iowa State struggled adjusting to life without David Montgomery and Hakeem Butler. It’s taken some time, but they’ve found some complementary runners for quarterback Brock Purdy with Breece Hall and Johnny Lang. The Cyclones have four receivers with at least 20 receptions including leading receiver Deshaunte Jones.

They aren’t playing as well as last year defensively, but they are playing well enough to get someone left on their schedule. They get the Sooners this weekend on the road, and Oklahoma better be ready.

Mike Gundy and the Cowboys are having the most Oklahoma State season Oklahoma State can have. They usually lose the one game they shouldn’t; they lost to Texas Tech on the road in Lubbock earlier this season. They got the win they probably shouldn’t; they went to Ames and beat Iowa State. Lost in all of this is the ‘Pokes were playing so well, we forgot how young the they are on offense.

We forgot that Spencer Sanders is a redshirt freshman, Chuba Hubbard is a sophomore and they are starting a redshirt freshman at tackle in Bray Bryce. They went through a rough patch with Sanders turning the ball over, but he and the offense have gotten their bearings. I know Bedlam is a game Oklahoma’s owned, but this team could get them if the Sooners aren’t careful.
