These types of games are tricky. You never know what you are going to get on the field when a team’s head coach has been fired. There are some games where the players have that “this one’s for coach” mindset. Other times you get that “what does it matter anyway?” mentality.
The Florida State Seminoles, however, have played hard all season. There are some deep-rooted cultural issues, and they haven’t been perfect this year, but they’ve gone out win or lose and played hard.
On Saturday, almost a week after head coach Willie Taggart got fired, the Seminoles played with pride.
Both Boston College and Florida State both are looking to go bowling this postseason. Boston College came into this game banged up, but you knew they were going to play hard. The Seminoles were by no means perfect in this one, but players stepped up.
James Blackman had one of his best — if not his best — games as a Seminole. The defense came up with stops when they needed, and recorded a big win.
