1. This is the Miami team we all expected

This is the Miami team we’ve waited a good portion of the season for. Their offensive line protected Jarren Williams well and he’s shown flashes of what he can do when he gets time this season, but the protection has broken down way too often for Williams and the Hurricanes. The offensive line did one of their best jobs all season surrendering just one sack.

There weren’t any execution issues in this game. The Hurricanes committed just five penalties in this one; none of which were detrimental.

They’ve played close games most of the year. All four of their losses have been by one possession. In many of their losses, it’s been the Hurricanes that made the critical mistake or missed the key protection.

As good as their defense has been this year, a couple of their losses have come as a result of defensive breakdowns. There were times where the offense stalled, and looked like they didn’t know what they wanted to do. They’ve adapted to Mike Enos’ system and this game is the fruit of the work they’ve put in.

The defense played well when it mattered; they gave up some big plays, but they did play with a big cushion most of the game.
