Betting Odds

Point Spread: Notre Dame -7.5
Over/Under: 54

As the week has progressed, the spread has slowly came down from somewhere around 11 points to now about 7-7.5. Navy consistently covers the spread when taking on Brian Kelly’s squad. The Midshipmen have covered the spread in five of its last six game against the Irish. Even in years where Navy hasn’t been very good, they have been able to muster up some motivation to give Notre Dame some serious issues.

Maybe this is why the Irish fans complain yearly about “having” to play this triple-option offense. Or maybe, Brian Kelly just isn’t very good at stopping this kind of offense. Ultimately, the Irish have done better at home when playing Navy, vice the neutral locations when the game isn’t played in South Bend. Therefore, the half point really makes this betting line tricky.
