When Kansas looks back at this season, they can say with all confidence that our 3-9 record isn’t an indicator of our progress. They won their first Power Five road game since the Lincoln administration — not really, but it’s been a while. Carter Stanley looks like a competent quarterback. The Jayhawks have something to build on.

Getting either Baylor or Iowa State would be a great bow on this season, but that probably won’t happen. The future looks good though. Kansas has the fifth-ranked recruiting class in the Big 12 and have a top 50 class this season, and projected top-30 class next season. Rock chalk.

The Red Raiders lost a tough one against the Horned Frogs this week. The decision by Alan Bowman to redshirt was a good idea. The Red Raiders season has been a major roller coaster ride. First-year head coach Matt Wells knows where he needs to get better, and the building blocks he has to get the foundation laid.

The finish to their season does Texas Tech no favors in trying to win out and get to a bowl. Texas Tech needs wins against Kansas State and Texas. Difficult, but not impossible. This is the Big 12 after all.

In the Big 12 shocker of the weekend, the West Virginia Mountaineers bowed up to defeat the Kansas State Wildcats 24-20. The surprise is the game was on the road for West Virginia, and Austin Kendall didn’t play for the Mountaineers. In the season to “get got”, Kansas State “got got” by the Mountaineers. They might not have another one in them, but that was a nice win for a team that looked a bit out of gas the last few games.

West Virginia snapped a five-game losing streak, and have a slim chance at a bowl with upsets of Oklahoma State and TCU.
