Cal was crushed by USC, and this team is about what we expected from the Golden Bears with Devon Modster at the helm. This game was lost with a 17-point Trojan third quarter, and the Bears now have two more chances to get bowl eligible. This team just hasn’t been the same in the second half of the season.

. Sun Devils . 7. team. 854. . 5-5

Remember when the Devils were 5-1, and the game against Utah was their biggest game of the season? Yeah, me neither. This team has lost four in a row, including back to back games against USC and Oregon State by a combined six points. The hope for Arizona State and Herm Edwards, it’s that their young team and young starting quarterback just need to learn how to win some of these close games before they make the leap next season. Tough game against Oregon and then Arizona for bowl eligibility.

836. . 4-6. . Bruins . 6. team

Yikes, that was ugly. The first drive was impressive, and the Bruins had a 3-0 lead. Then, Dorian Thompson-Robinson happened. My disdain of his game is documented in earlier power rankings, but four turnovers, including a couple of inexplicable throws, is just not going to cut it against elite teams.

While beating the Utes was always a tough task, losing by 46 is not where this team wants to be. Joshua Kelley continues to look good, but he was negated after Utah took a big lead.

5-5. . Beavers . 5. team. 832.

Oregon State had an over/under win total of two before the season started. Now, they’re one win away from bowl eligibility. Jake Luton had one of his best games of the season, completing 74 percent of his passes and throwing four touchdowns. This offense has been sensational, and the Beavers pulled out a win. While I don’t think this team is ready to beat the Ducks, Washington State is a very winnable contest.

. Huskies . 4. team. 818. . 6-4

Coming off of their bye week, the feeling is the Huskies have to win these last two games to give this season anything worthwhile. They play lowly Colorado on the road before the Apple Cup, and Washington has a great chance to win out and get to a decent bowl game.

For the sake of him, I really hope Jacob Eason comes back one more season. He’s so close to being good and will be undervalued in the quarterback class. Not to mention, the Huskies will be very good next year with him in the lineup.
