2. Let Chase Young loose

Chase Young missed the last two games for an alleged violation of an NCAA rule. You know he’s chomping at the bit to get back on the field. Everything Penn State does plays in the favor of both Young and the Ohio State defense. Penn State wants to push the ball downfield. They won’t have enough time to get the ball downfield because of the Ohio State pass rush.

If they attempt to move the pocket away from Young, he’s so fast he’ll chase Sean Clifford down back-side. If they try to run stretch plays away from Young either he will run those down back-side, or his fast athletic teammates will. It’s so hard to run wide against Ohio State — you can’t run at Young either.

Even if they try to get the ball out quickly, Ohio State’s defensive backs will disrupt the timing of Penn State’s receivers, and Clifford hasn’t shown he can be successful in an offense where he has to read and react that quickly.

One thing’s for sure, Young is chomping at the bit to play again and prove why he deserves an invitation to New York City. This is a showcase game, and he will be ready to play.
