Ranking the 5 best NFL draft quarterback prospects in college football
By Kyle Grondin
4. Kedon Slovis, USC — Draft eligible: 2022
Disclaimer: A lot can happen between now and the 2022 NFL Draft. I get that completely. But it’s hard not to look at Kedon Slovis’ work and ability, and not envision this guy as a future number one pick. Let’s compare numbers.
Player A: 15 games, 65.2%, 3,280 yards, 8.3 YPA, 30 TDs, 4 INTs, 157.6 QBR
Player B: 10 games, 70.8%, 2,727 yards, 8.9 YPA 24 TDs, 9 INTs, 162.9 QBR
Player B is Slovis so far this season. Player A? Trevor Lawrence’s freshman year, where we were ready to anoint him the future top overall pick. Outside of interceptions, Slovis will blow those numbers out of the water, and has been just really impressive this season.
Slovis is very accurate, throws a great deep ball and is really refined in the pocket for someone so young. He just needs to cut back on some turnovers, which is simply just him trying to do too much with the ball, and he’s about as surefire of a draft pick as you can get at his age. It will be fun to watch him grow in the coming years as the Trojans’ signal caller.
