College GameDay is headed back to Big Ten country for Week 13 as Ohio State hosts Penn State. Who will be the crew’s celebrity picker on Saturday?
Can you believe there are only a few College GameDays left before it’s offseason time for the weekly show, set to return again in August of 2020? It seems like just yesterday the crew was down in Florida, kicking off the season with a Miami vs. Florida Week 0 game.
Now, the crew is headed to Columbus to host one of the biggest games of the season.
With each passing week, it seems as if the games become more and more meaningful and this one takes the cake so far. The winner of the Ohio State vs. Penn State game not only remains firmly in the playoff race but gets the upper hand in the Big Ten East standings.
On Saturday morning, however, before the noon kickoff, the crew will be picking the week’s biggest games and that means an Ohio State-based celebrity picker will surface near the end of the show. Who will it be?
No one has been officially announced just yet, but the word on the street, and from Kirk Herbstreit’s mouth, is that it will be Eddie George.
Kirk Herbstreit said today that he believes tomorrow’s College Gameday guest picker is former Ohio State Heisman-winning running back Eddie George.

There’s talk that this selection by ESPN is trying to win back countless Ohio State fans who are planning to boycott the network over their alleged bias toward the SEC. It seems petty on both sides, but this would be a good way to make sure viewers aren’t completely lost.
George was a great Ohio State running back from 1992-95 and won the Heisman Trophy during his senior season when he rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was selected No. 14 overall in the 1996 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers and ended up having a long, successful NFL career.
This pick would be especially interesting because he grew up in Philadelphia and picked the Buckeyes over Penn State in a heated recruiting battle.
George is the likely pick for GameDay, so don’t be surprised if the former Buckeye hits the set on Saturday morning to try and get Ohio State fans on board with the ESPN show.
