Although the Ohio State Buckeyes came away with a huge conference victory over a top 10 opponent, they may not receive the recognition they deserve. One of the biggest underlying stories that will be discussed by the College Football Playoff Committee was that Penn State stayed in this game until late in the fourth quarter with their backup quarterback.

Sean Clifford, the Nittany Lions’ starting quarterback, was injured just before halftime, and Will Levis had to take over under center. Levis played incredibly well considering the circumstances. But, the discussion about what could have been will be brought up. This uncertainty will prevent Ohio State from jumping LSU for the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Ryan Day has exceeded expectations in his first season as the head coach of any football program, let alone taking over for Urban Meyer at Ohio State. Buckeye fans should feel confident that their team will win against the Michigan Wolverines and whoever they face in the Big Ten Championship Game.
