USC Trojans. Scouting Report. won 52-35 vs. UCLA. regular season complete. 23. player. 808. Pick Analysis

Despite four losses on their record, USC earned their way into the College Football Playoff rankings last week when they toppled Cal 41-17 in Berkeley. The Trojans will stay in the selection committee’s Top 25 heading into Week 14 after they concluded their regular season with a 52-35 dismantling of UCLA to win the Victory Bell in the crosstown rivalry game at the Coliseum.

Kedon Slovis put on a clinic passing the ball, as he threw for 515 yards and four touchdowns on 37-of-47 passing. Vavae Malepeai punched in two rushing touchdowns, and the defense held UCLA running back Joshua Kelley to only 45 yards and a touchdown to hamstring the Bruins offense and force Dorian Thompson-Robinson to try to beat them with his arm.

Now USC is left to wait and see if Utah can falter in their final game against Colorado. If the Utes suffer an improbable upset to the Buffaloes, the head-to-head victory by the Trojans will come in handy as a tiebreaker for the division. Thanks to their 30-23 win at home over the Utes way back in September, the Trojans would head to Santa Clara to represent the Pac-12 South in the conference title game against Oregon.
