College Football Playoff Rankings 2019: Projected Top 25, Week 14 – Utah sneaks in
By Zach Bigalke
West Virginia threatened to upset No. 21 Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon in Morgantown, but the Cowboys survived their road trip with a 20-13 victory. With the road win the Pokes will remain in the College Football Playoff Top 25 for another week heading into Thanksgiving and the final weekend of the regular season.
Chuba Hubbard was held to 106 rushing yards, and the Mountaineers defense held the nation’s top running back out of the endzone. He did add seven catches for 88 yards to lead the Cowboys in receiving as well as rushing, but even through the air he failed to put points on the board for the first time this season. The defense forced West Virginia to become one-dimensional on offense, holding the Mountaineers rushing attack to just 26 net yards on 22 carries.
Now Oklahoma State prepares for a Bedlam showdown at home against Oklahoma on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. While the Cowboys are all but mathematically eliminated from the Big 12 championship game at this point of the year, they could still put a massive smudge on the burnished image of their rivals from Norman to close out the regular season on a high note.
