SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 14: Georgia, LSU on collision course

The Vols enter their season’s finale playing their best football. Tennessee has won four in a row coming into their in-state rivalry game against Vanderbilt. Everything has come together for the Vols. Tennessee’s win streak has been greatly aided by their defense — an improved defense has aided their four-game win streak.
During their winning streak, the Volunteers have surrendered around 15 points per game. They’ve been back and forth at the quarterback position, but Jarrett Guarantano has emerged as their QB1 and their leader. All of this is bad news for the Commodores. Vandy won’t have enough to stop the Volunteers at home in this rivalry game.
It’s time for one of the fiercest rivalries in all of college football: the Iron Bowl. This is very much big brother versus little brother. You have the crown jewel of the Yellowhammer State the Alabama Crimson Tide and their red-headed step brother the Auburn Tigers.
This one, however, is ripe for get-got season.
This game is at Jordan-Hare, the Tide don’t have Tua, and funky things happen when these two teams play at Auburn. The Tigers offense has been hit or miss, but they do have “Boobie” Whitlow back at running back for this game along with one of the best defensive units in the SEC. Strap in for this one, boys.
Though they may not be mathematically eliminated from the College Football Playoff, the Gators could still get close to the field with plenty of help. However, coming off a bye week and having only a game against Florida State remaining, the chances of impressive the committee enough to make even the top-six are slim to none. The Gators could still snag more in-state bragging rights with a rivalry win over the Seminoles sans Willie Taggart.
