2. Sam Ehlinger was typical Sam Ehlinger

It’s no secret the Texas Longhorns’ offense flows through Sam Ehlinger. With the injuries they’ve sustained at the running back position as well as a lackluster offensive line, the junior quarterback is where their offensive bread is buttered. Everything goes through him. Friday was no different.

When he’s on, the Texas offense is on and on Friday, he was on. He had 348 yards rushing and another 83 yards on the ground. Most importantly, Ehlinger had no turnovers.

He was able to find both Devin Duvernay and Jake Smith for touchdown passes — Duvernay led the Longhorns receivers six receptions for 199 yards. Ehlinger has led the charge in the run game most of the season with the injuries at running back. He got some help today with Johnson rushing for 105 yards.

Having a pitch man the defense respects makes Ehlinger even more dangerous.
