1. Urban Meyer

The man who has been rumored for this job since August is the obvious top choice from the Trojans. The rumors have said that USC is already reaching out to him and his representatives, and he makes a lot of sense for USC.

Meyer is one of the biggest names in college football, as he’s won national championships with two different schools, and since leaving Bowling Green, has only had three or more losses three times in fifteen seasons. If the Trojans want a big name, there isn’t one bigger than Urban.

The two biggest questions over the Meyer hiring is his personal health and ethics.

Meyer has quit two different programs, walking away from Florida and Ohio State, due to personal health reasons. Meyer is 55, and a well paid analyst for FOX Sports. He may not want to get back on the sidelines.

Ethically, the President of USC has expressed displeasure before with the thought of hiring Urban Meyer, citing his knowledge of an abusive domestic relationship in his coaching staff with Zach Smith. While it remains to be seen if they will extend him an offer, this deal could be nixed pretty quickly. Meyer has had his fair share of scandal during his career, and it could be too much PR that USC doesn’t want to deal with.
