Why they are in

The Boise State Broncos arguably have the best Power Five win in the bunch with their road victory against FSU. That game was supposed to be at a neutral site, but it was moved to Doak Campbell at the last-minute. Their response? They go on the road and shut out the Seminoles in the second half to win that game. Their BYU loss looks better since the Cougars are 4-1 since that game. They might need Memphis to lose, but their Power Five win is better than the Tigers’.

What keeps them out

Speaking about that BYU loss, the caveat to that loss is they lost to a Cougar team without their starting quarterback. Not only that their early season win against Marshall was at home, and it wasn’t pretty. The Mountain West isn’t as good this season as it has been. Just like App State, Boise State plays a team they’ve defeated in the regular season in their conference championship game.
