College Football Playoff Rankings 2019: Projected final Top 25
By Zach Bigalke
Oklahoma State held on to a spot in the College Football Playoff Top 25 after their Bedlam loss to the Sooners. They were one of several Big 12 teams sitting at eight wins at the end of November, hovering just behind Oklahoma and Baylor in the conference standings. After the way everything shook out on championship weekend, the Cowboys will remain in the final set of rankings released by the selection committee on Sunday.
Chuba Hubbard was the centerpiece of Oklahoma State’s season. The Cowboys running back finished the regular season with 1936 yards to lead the country with more than 161 yards per game. He also entered championship weekend ranked second in rushing touchdowns, sitting two behind Central Michigan’s Levante Bellamy heading into the postseason.
Despite their four losses, Oklahoma State will move up a few spots in the final Top 25 from the selection committee. The Cowboys will likely play in the Alamo Bowl against Utah or another Pac-12 opponent if the Big 12 title game plays out like expected and serves as a de facto College Football Playoff quarterfinal.
