2. Recruiting

In Norvell’s four years at Memphis, they were consistently near the top of the conference when it came to recruiting. The Tigers could recruit under Norvell, and perhaps even more importantly for Florida State fans, he could recruit the Southeast very well.

The primary aspects of the Tigers recruits came from Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi. Norvell covers this area of the map very well, and can jump right into recruiting at Florida State at a full sprint.

Recruiting is crucial for Florida State, and it was one of the reasons for Willie Taggart’s demise, as he was unable to bring in fresh talent to important positions like quarterback and offensive line.

If Norvell is to turn around Florida State, it begins with the recruiting trail.
