Camellia Bowl 2019: 3 players to watch in FIU vs. Arkansas State battle
1. Omar Bayless, WR, Arkansas State
Arkansas State head coach Blake Anderson will look to get senior wide out Omar Bayless the ball early and often — he has been the best receiver in the Sun Belt this year by far. Not only was he the best receiver in conference, but one of the best receivers in all of college football and will make an NFL team very lucky in the near future.
Bayless was second in all of college football in receiving yards as well as receiving touchdowns. He finished the year with 84 catches for 1,473 yards receiving along with 16 receiving touchdowns. The only receiver to have more yards and touchdowns receiving than Bayless is LSU star wide out JaMarr Chase.
Bayless exploded onto the scene this year, as the past few seasons he has played well, but took it to a whole new level this year. He had more receiving yards and receiving touchdowns this year than his previous three seasons combined. He was a huge reason why Layne Hatcher was able to have a successful year as he could rely on Bayless to make play after play.
Arkansas State also has Kirk Merritt and Jonathan Adams Jr. at receiver who are talented as well so it makes it hard to double-team Bayless.
Regardless who comes out on top in this game, look for Bayless to make some big plays in front of a lot of NFL scouts.
