2. USC could not survive losing Kedon Slovis

Don’t let this score fool you, USC was in this game and threatening at one point. Kedon Slovis was keeping them alive and they got a huge game out of Amon-Ra St. Brown who finished with nine catches for 163 yards.

They got a boost of life with an onside kick recovery after a 75-yard touchdown drive but shortly after lost Slovis to an arm injury. He finished 22-for-30 with 260 yards and two touchdowns in just five drives of work.

Matt Fink came in but just could not make up for the lack of running game by Southern Cal as they only finished with 61 rushing yards by their running backs. Slovis had looked as if he was on his way to an outstanding performance to cap off a really good freshman season.

USC fans might have trouble getting past the headache of this season, but the future is bright with Slovis leading the way for the next couple of seasons.
