1. Washington State was limited

The Cougars new they had to take care of the football, and most importantly score touchdowns when they got the ball; they did not do that consistently tonight.

Despite Anthony Gordon having a good game, Washington State did not look in rhythm on offense. The Falcons, on the other hand, looked like they were in lock-step this evening especially blocking for the run game. The Cougars were hamstrung with the number of possessions they had, and were defended well by the Falcons.

Air Force is the ultimate boa constrictor. Head coach Timothy Calhoun had a well executed game play. They got a lead and just ran the ball. That’s why the Falcons were able to repel the come back efforts by Washington State were nullified. Air Force had the fresher defense in the second half. Their best defense this evening was limiting the offensive possessions of the Cougars.
