3. Tulane QB Justin McMillan

Former LSU Tiger and Green Wave dual-threat Justin McMillan has had a highly successful career with Tulane. McMillan has led the Green Wave to their second straight bowl and their first since 2013. Before then, the Green Wave haven’t been to a bowl since the 2002 season.

McMillan has been the heart and soul of a dynamic, productive Green Wave offense that ranks 30th in points per game (33.3). In 12 games, McMillan has thrown for 2,229 yards, 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 170 completions (out 296 attempts). He also rushed for 704 yards and 12 touchdowns on 152 carries. He is a dangerous, elusive runner that can also react quickly to a coverage scheme and pass the ball.

The Green Wave will be facing a Southern Miss defense that is ranked 14th in the nation in rush defense (111.8 yards allowed per game). Both of their running backs in Darius Bradwell (foot) and Corey Dauphine (wrist) are listed as questionable. It might be likely that they are healthy for the game but potentially not at 100 percent. This will create a bigger urge for offensive coordinator Will Hall and for McMillan to beat the Golden Eagles defense through the passing game.
