18. The Aggies join the SEC in July (2012)

This one is a no brainer for the list of top moments this decade. I’d like to remind everyone right here and right now that this list is not a ranking as it is simply in date order. Don’t freak out that this is No. 18 and not in the top five moments.

The Aggies were approved to join the SEC in September of 2011 and officially joined in July of 2012. They moved from the Big 12 to the SEC West, in which they would face off against the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas and LSU year in and year out, on top of the SEC East opponents that would rotate through each year.

Since joining the SEC, the Aggies have put up a winning overall record every year. They have produced some serious monetary value, becoming the most valuable college football program in September of 2019. Recruiting has grown leaps and bounds since joining the SEC and continues to do so. It was surely one of the better moves that this school has ever or will ever make.
