Pick Analysis. 9-4 in 2019. Michigan Wolverines. player. Scouting Report. lost 35-16 in Citrus Bowl vs. Alabama. 15. 811

Michigan rolled out to a 10-7 lead against Alabama in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day. They were still ahead 16-14 at halftime after Quinn Nordin booted a 57-yard field goal through the uprights. After the intermission, the Wolverines collapsed as the Crimson Tide adjusted and ran away with a 35-16 victory. It was a disappointing turnaround that kept Jim Harbaugh’s team from reaching 10 wins.

Shea Patterson was disappointing in his final game as the Wolverines quarterback, going 17-of-37 for 233 yards with one touchdown and a pair of interceptions. The ground game offered far more hope for the future, as freshman Zach Charbonnet finished with 84 yards on 13 carries and sophomore Hassan Haskins added 61 yards on 18 handoffs. The defense had a rough game against the Crimson Tide, giving up 327 passing yards to Mac Jones and 136 on the ground to Najee Harris.

Right out of the gate, Michigan opens 2020 with a road test against Washington in Seattle. If they can knock off the Huskies, the Wolverines will consolidate their preseason position in the top 15 of the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll.
