895. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. lost Las Vegas Bowl 38-7 vs. Washington. Boise State Broncos. player. 12-2 in 2019. 22

Boise State couldn’t break through in the Las Vegas Bowl with a win over former coach Chris Petersen in his final game on the Washington sidelines. The Broncos fell 38-7 in a mismatch at Sam Boyd Stadium. Even with that defeat lingering all offseason over the program, Bryan Harsin’s crew will be right back among the Group of Five contenders when the preseason polls come out in August.

Offensive tackle Ezra Cleveland and edge rusher Curtis Weaver both elected to declare early for the 2020 NFL Draft rather than coming back for another season on the Smurf Turf. Even so, the Broncos have a solid group of players returning to Boise and one of the best incoming recruiting classes among Group of Five programs.

Florida State and BYU present solid out-of-conference tests, along with elimination games against fellow Group of Five hopefuls Georgia Southern and Marshall. Road games at Air Force, Hawaii, and Wyoming present tricky Mountain West tests as well. Boise State will be right back in the thick of the race for the automatic bid into a New Year’s Six bowl next season, and pollsters will respond by putting a number next to their name in the preseason.
