1. D’Eriq King can lead LSU’s returning talent

In the wake of their National Championship win, a number of the LSU team are expected to declare for the NFL Draft. As I sit and write this, Grant Delpit, Patrick Queen, and Justin Jefferson have released statements via various social media platforms to say their goodbyes to the team.

It’s expected that more will follow.

However, there is a raft of talent that will return to the team in 2020. It’s a level of talent that would allow D’Eriq King to thrive and possibly deliver a never achieved back to back National Championship for the Tigers.

Let’s start with the man that terrorized poor A.J. Terrell in Monday night’s game.

Ja’Marr Chase has been an absolute weapon in 2019.

He led the nation in receiving yards with 1780. He led the nation in receiving touchdowns with 20. His 221 yards, two touchdown performance in the National Championship will probably be forgotten behind Joe Burrow’s 463 yard and five touchdown swan song but he was equally as important.

Chase and Terrace Marshall Jr will both return to the LSU football program in 2020 and would provide D’Eriq King with a potent threat at the wide receiver position. The Tigers also secured the nation’s top tight end in the 2020 class in Arik Gilbert.

Although it is highly anticipated that Clyde Edwards-Helaire will declare, they have a strong running back room with Chris Curry, John Emery Jr, and Tyrion Davis-Price.

After playing behind an offensive line in Houston that allowed almost three sacks a game, ranked 114/130 in the FBS, D’Eriq King would benefit greatly from greater protection at LSU. Although both starting guards have finished their College Football careers, there is still chance that center Lloyd Cushenberry, plus both starting tackles, may return.

The offense is set up for another phenomenal season. All it needs is that star quarterback.

D’Eriq King, LSU football is waiting for you. How bout those Tigers?
