14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: A.J. Epenesa, EDGE, Iowa

AJ Epenesa has top-10 potential, but he had a lot of bad tape in the first half of the season that will make NFL teams concerned. Once he turned it around, he was absolutely electric. He’s been a sack machine since his underclassmen days, and that did not stop now.

Tampa Bay’s needs are a little off with how this board shakes out. Offensive line is a major need, but there’s no one here that I would come close to considering. I know people reach for offensive tackles, but this type of reach could potentially cost you a job.

With Jameis Winston’s future being up in the air, I know Tampa Bay will take a look at quarterback. I just don’t like any other guy this early in the first round. I’d rather tag Jameis or find my answer in free agency. Honestly, I’d rather tank for next year than go after any of these guys in the first round to be a rookie starter.

That leaves defensive line as the only other major need. Interior help is more important than edge right now, but I think Epenesa is versatile enough to play a little of both. That makes this a mix of best player available and team need.

Shaq Barrett’s contract is up. I’m sure both teams want to come to an agreement, but he’s going to demand a ton of money after his record year off the edge. If they part ways, this might turn into a perfect fit. If not, this will end up giving Tampa Bay a great pass rush on both sides of the line.
