18. Miami Dolphins: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson

Miami got their quarterback of the future with their first pick, so let’s give Tua a weapon with the second pick. Tee Higgins has flashed as a top receiver this year, and he has quality tape in his previous years at Clemson.

This is a multi-year rebuild for Miami. They’re not going to the Super Bowl next season. That gives them the ability to draft a player who will develop into a star. I think Higgins is a great receiver, but there are more NFL-ready players on the board. With the possibility of sitting Tua for his first year on the table, this would set the Dolphins up to succeed down the road.

I know Miami still needs to replace Laremy Tunsil, but there is no offensive lineman worth being drafted right now. Miami has tons of draft capital over the next few years. You don’t have to reach for a position of need. Take the star from Clemson and figure everything else out later.

Offense will clearly be a need for the Dolphins as they hope to grow. It wouldn’t surprise me if they only drafted offensive players in the first round. If you’re going to put an injured quarterback on a pedestal, there has to be people around him to help him succeed. Higgins certainly fits that need.
