2. There’s plenty of talent in Fayetteville

Believe it or not, the cupboard is not bare in Fayetteville. Chad Morris’ stint at Arkansas did not work because he did not evolve offensively. However, he did recruit well considering he lost every conference game as head coach.

Morris was hired before the 2018 season so he was responsible for recruiting the 2018 and 2019 classes. According to 247Sports, those classes were 49th and 23rd, respectively. Certainly not bad for a team that went 4-20  during that stretch.

We know Briles wants to run the football. He has Rakeem Boyd coming back for his senior season.

Feleipe Franks also has some weapons to catch some passes as Treylon Burks, Mike Woods and Trey Knox are some of the young receivers on the depth chart. The system Briles uses will take advantage of the speed of those young receivers and Franks is competent enough to get them the football.

There’s no doubt he’s heading in the deep waters of the SEC West, but Franks has the weapons to make some of the games competitive.
