Senior Bowl 2020: 3 takeaways from North’s 34-17 win over South

1. Senior Bowl proves to be huge evaluation for top players

The Senior Bowl continues to be a huge development ground for some former collegiate seniors that might not have gotten much analysis during the season.

Some of the top players in the NFL Draft start out their journey with a Senior Bowl week performance. Quarterback Carson Wentz (North Dakota State), quarterback Josh Allen (Wyoming), wide receiver Terry McLaurin (Ohio State), and offensive tackle Eric Fisher (Central Michigan) were among some of those players.

Other players in the 2020 Senior Bowl that were considered borderline or near the first-round talent including former Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, Purdue tight end Brycen Hopkins, Texas wide receiver Collin Johnson, and Houston offensive tackle Josh Jones. All of these players displayed their consistency and great attributes that would make them high-value NFL prospects.

Former UCLA Bruins running back Joshua Kelley is a player that was stout every day throughout the Senior Bowl week. In the game, Kelley rushed for 105 yards on 15 carries, averaging seven yards per run. He also displayed his excellent reliability as a short-yardage receiver.

Former Utah Utes defensive end Bradlee Anae was named defensive MVP of the game as he accounted for two sacks. He was also considered another near first-round caliber prospect. This game helped his Draft stock tremendously. Former Michigan State defensive end Kenny Willekes and Syracuse defensive end Alton Robinson also accounted for two sacks each. All three of these players completely dominated the South Squad offensive line.
