1. Syracuse lost multiple games by a wide margin

An overall combination of inefficiencies on the offensive and defensive side of the ball caused the season to completely fall apart. Not only were the Orange not winning games they should have but there were losing by an embarrassingly high margin.

Of the seven losses suffered this season by Syracuse, five of them were by a loss of 18-points or more. Three of the losses were by a margin of defeat of 30 or more points.

The Orange suffered two huge losses in a row within the first three weeks of the 2019 College Football season. In week two, Syracuse on the road to the Maryland Terrapins with a 63-20 score, a margin of 43-points. The following week, Syracuse would lose at home to the No. 1 Clemson Tigers with a 41-6 score, a 35-point margin loss.

It was a perfect storm against the Orange when dealing with more balanced teams. They could not stop opposing offensive drives despite being the same systematics. They also could not keep drives alive through their experienced skilled players but young and inefficient offensive line.

It was the 31-point differential loss the Boston College that the Orange started to make some changes. The Orange finish their season with a 2-1 run but not before experiencing a 22-point loss at the Louisville Cardinals with a 56-34 score.
