USC showdown

The Ducks then traveled to Los Angeles to take on the USC Trojans in a Saturday night primetime game. The Ducks did not get out to a good start and as a result, the Trojans got out to a quick 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

After some inspired play on defense and offense, the Ducks regained the lead although it looked like this one was going to go down to the wire. A USC touchdown pass to Michael Pittman (Mycah’s brother) made the score 21-17 Ducks with 20 seconds remaining in the half.

In one of the most exciting plays of the season, freshman cornerback Mykael Wright returned the ensuing USC kickoff 100 yards, giving the Ducks a huge momentum boost going into the half.

In the second half, Juwan Johnson dominated having his best game as a Duck, catching three touchdown passes from Justin Herbert including a magnificent 37-yard reception.
