Gabe Richardson and his backup Jamario Bell are graduating, leaving a vacancy at defensive end opposite Mataio Soli. Blayne Toll could be a guy who comes in and competes right away.

Toll is the third-highest rated early enrollee in the Razorbacks’ 2020 class, according to 247Sports. His 6-5, 244-pound is ranked the No. 443 overall prospect and 16th-best strong-side defensive end. On top of that, he’s the third-best recruit from the state of Arkansas in the class.

The Arkansas-native chose to stay close to home instead of playing for a serious contender like Oklahoma and having to fight his way up the depth chart early on.

Arkansas could use an improved pass rush and Toll is a kid who could help with that immediately. He’s already in Fayetteville so he’s going to have an advantage over guys like Andy Boykin, Eric Thomas and Jaqualin McGhee who aren’t already enrolled.

Sam Pittman may have this kid on the field from day one.
