Duke Football: What does Chase Brice bring to Blue Devils?
By Dante Pryor
Will Brice work at Duke?
Let us define what “working” means in the context of Duke football. Unless some cataclysmic injuries happen at Clemson, Duke isn’t going to win the ACC. They probably won’t win the Coastal. Working in the context of Duke is getting bowl eligible, and being competitive on a weekly basis.
The Blue Devils were limited last season with Quentin Harris as their quarterback. Chase Brice adds an element as a passer they did not have last season. He can push the ball downfield and use the pieces they have.
The Blue Devils did not have many injuries, but they had injuries to key players. They lost one offensive lineman during spring practice before the season started and Brittain Brown who was supposed to get most of the work load last season was injured early in the year and lost for the rest of the season.
If Chase can adjust to not having four and five-star receivers to throw to, he has the tools to elevate the Blue Devils and compete in the ACC Coastal.
