Early enrollees always have a leg up on the competition and Malik Heath is an intriguing freshman prospect who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 210 pounds. His size alone is what could make him a serious threat in the Bulldogs’ offense.

The fact that he’s a JUCO transfer just proves that he’s ready to contribute right away with a couple years of college ball under his belt at a lower level.

Heath was a top-200 recruit out of high school in Jackson, Miss., but went the JUCO route and became the No. 9 overall prospect at that level. He’s also the second-best junior college receiver in the country out of Copiah-Lincoln C.C. and he could flourish in a Mike Leach-coached offense.

Ole Miss was the leader in his recruitment out of high school, but the tables have turned since he’s been at Copiah-Lincoln. He’s going to be an immediate impact player in that offense, especially with Deddrick Thomas, Stephen Guidry and Isaiah Zuber gone. This receiving corps could use another addition and Heath is that guy.
