Kelee Ringo signed between the early signing day on Dec. 18 and the official 2020 National Signing Day on Feb. 5. He officially signed on Jan. 4 as the fourth-rated prospect in the 2020 class. His signing gave the Bulldogs a huge boost for the Bulldogs’ recruiting class as they ranked fifth in December.

Ringo comes in as one of the most talented man coverage cornerbacks for the Bulldogs this season. The Bulldogs return many of their leading secondary players from last season. Of the five starters in the secondary last season, the Bulldogs are only losing safety J.R. Reed. This normally makes potentially playing time difficult for an incoming freshman like Ringo.

Left cornerback Eric Stokes will be a redshirt junior and one of the best corners in the SEC. Ringo is slated at the number two spot behind Stokes but is expected to be the number three cornerback in certain situations. He has skill settings that go beyond being a man coverage cornerback for one of the most successful defenses in the nation. He can tackle efficiently and shed off blocks.

Last season, the Bulldogs were first in the nation in points allowed per game (12.6) but 31st in passing yards allowed per game (201.1). Ringo’s early contributions can be heavily significant for a Bulldogs’ defense that requires many contributors regardless of position and experience.
