Penn State football carries high expectations into the 2020 season. What fixes do they need to make to achieve their goals?

Coming off a 2019 season in which Penn State finished 11-2 with a Cotton Bowl victory over Memphis, the Nittany Lions are in position to enter 2020 a preseason top ten team. The expectations will be sky high in Happy Valley for the Nittany Lions to make their first ever College Football Playoff appearance next season.

Before a playoff appearance or even a Big Ten title can be achieved, the Nittany Lions have a few issues they must fix.

The team excelled in areas last season as they jumped out to a 8-0 record. The defense was clicking, especially the front seven, and the offense could score when it needed to do so. However there were signs of trouble and as the calendar turned to November, Penn State hit some bumps in the road and went only 2-2 in the final month of the season.

To get to the playoff, Penn State can only afford at most one loss. What corrections do they need to make this off season in order to finish the season strong and achieve their ultimate goals?

Here are three fixes for Penn State to mull over this spring and summer.
