1. Victory over No. 3 Georgia

The Gamecocks entered the game against Georgia 2-3 on the season and were not expected to beat the undefeated Bulldogs, especially not on their home turf in Athens. However, in a season full of surprises, good and bad, South Carolina took home the victory after defeating Georgia 20-17 in double overtime.

Parker White had the opportunity to cement the victory in regulation but missed the kick from 57 yards out and also missed the kick in overtime that would have given the Gamecocks the lead.  Two of White’s four missed field goal attempts were during this game, but he redeemed himself when he successfully put the ball through the posts from 24 yards out in to give South Carolina the three-point advantage in double overtime.

In a game of hit and miss field goal attempts, Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship was unable to convert from 47 yards out to tie the game and the Gamecocks defeated the third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs.

The South Carolina Gamecocks had a disappointing season in 2019 with only four victories the entire season, many missed opportunities throughout and an onslaught of injuries by season end.  Yet, despite all of the downfalls of the season there were good times, too, including the four victories, one of which was against Georgia and White and Ryan Hilinski making an impact on the team’s success.
