When you go to Clemson, the first thing that stands out is the culture of competition in the football program. No one’s spot is safe. Last season’s glaring weakness was the defensive line. Brent Venables could not get pressure on the quarterback without bringing pressure using the blitz. This was an area the Tigers definitely targeted through recruiting this offseason.

The departure of Tee Higgins and Diondre Overton might hurt the passing game early, but they are not hurting for receiver talent or depth. Both Justyn Ross and Amari Rodgers return as the key targets for Trevor Lawrence.

In short, the Tigers’ offense will be fine. The Tigers did recruit heavy along the offensive line as they look to shore up in the offensive trenches.

Despite all of this, you don’t have a five-star recruit the caliber of Bryan Bresee and not expect him to play this season. He has all the tools to be the next great Clemson defensive lineman. He’ll help stimulate that culture of competition along what can only be described as a disappointing performance by the Tigers’ pass rush last season.
