3. Brycen Hopkins, Purdue

Brycen Hopkins is a prospect whose NFL draft stock has been flirting with the potential of being selected in the first round. He has been a solid contributor throughout his entire career with the Purdue Boilermakers. He has appeared in 48 games where he accounted for 130 receptions for 1,945 yards and touchdowns.

During his senior season at Purdue, Hopkins caught 61 receptions for 830 yards and seven touchdowns.

Hopkins participated in the 2020 Senior Bowl in late January in Mobile where he great promise as a consistent pass-catching tight end. He won multiple matchups in one-on-one scenarios and performed well in position drills.

He possesses great athleticism in his ability to get off the ball and create some separation in one-on-ones. There are some questions of his full capabilities as a blocker which will be important in the NFL. At 6-5, 245 pounds, he is slightly smaller than the other tight end prospects in the combine.

He draws comparisons to Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry due to his ability to create separation and his reliability as a pass-catcher. Hopkins will have to showcase some measures of efficiency in his blocks during the combine. A great combine will boost his draft stock to likely a first-round selection.
