3. Cam Akers, Florida State

A former five-star recruit out of Mississippi, Cam Akers has lost some of his steam since going to Florida State. It feels as if Akers has been lost in the shadow of Florida State’s mediocrity since he’s been there.

Despite Florida State being in rough shape, Akers did many good things during his time in Tallahassee. He set the team freshman record for rushing yards, finishing 2017 with 1,025 yards. Finished last season with 18 total touchdowns and second team All-ACC honors.

However, 2018 is the year he will have to answer questions for at the combine, only averaging 4.4 yards per carry and just barely rushing for over 700 yards.

Akers has displayed all the physical tools wanted from the running back position. Quick burst, tough to bring down, and has the ability to create big plays. With a great showing at the combine he can quickly erase the concerns of his inconsistent production.
