1. Kyle Dugger, Lenoir-Rhyne

Let’s be under no illusion, Kyle Dugger is the fairytale story of the 2020 NFL Draft. The safety from Lenoir-Rhyne has excelled through the process and has gone from a Division II prospect, to genuine first round pick potential, in what feels like no time.

He’s taken advantage of every opportunity he’s been given to showcase his talent. His play through 2019 for Lenoir-Ryne put him on the radar for the Senior Bowl staff. Once he arrived at the Senior Bowl, he went to work ensuring that no-one would be in any doubt that he truly belonged there.

I expect him to do the same at the NFL Combine. He may well be player who makes the most positive impact on his NFL draft stock. I don’t just mean the defensive backs, I mean all players that are on show in Indianapolis.

He’s already the talk of the town after measurements were taken for the defensive back group on Thursday. With an arm length of almost 33 inches, and an incredible wingspan, Dugger showed he’s the perfect size to play safety and even linebacker in the NFL.

There’s an expectation that he’ll excel during the on-field frills once they get underway on Sunday. Once the teams put that all together with his game tape for Lenoir-Rhyne and his Senior Bowl week tape, they are going to fall in love with him.

After a lackluster 2019 campaign from Grant Delpit, there is a real chance that Dugger comes out of the NFL Combine week, and into the NFL Draft, as the second safety selected in Las Vegas.

Now that would be a fairytale.
