2. Season finale vs. Clemson

The season finished as it does every year with the annual Palmetto Bowl, the rivalry game between South Carolina and Clemson. The Gamecocks entered their last week of the season with only four wins on the season while the Clemson Tigers came into the game undefeated, and solidly handed South Carolina a 38-3 loss.

Clemson was heavily favored to win this game and while the South Carolina faithful may have been hoping the team would pull off another upset, it was almost a foregone conclusion the Gamecocks would lose to their upstate rival.

Even though the loss wasn’t quite as painful as the last time the two teams met in Columbia, it was still a bitter pill to swallow considering place kicker Parker White put up the only points of the game when he kicked a field goal in the first half.

South Carolina’s offensive and defensive line fell apart against the Tigers.
