Justin Flowe landing in Eugene is a big deal for several reasons. First, he was the No. 1-rated inside linebacker in the country and the No. 2 player from the state of California. He turned down offers from the likes of Clemson and Alabama. Keeping Flowe in the Pac-12 is huge considering some of the top recruits they’ve lost the last couple of years.

Also, he’s a five-star who will fill a need at backer with the Ducks losing both their inside linebackers to graduation this season. Flowe is a five-star; the expectation is he finds a way to get on the field.

If you need to know why Mario Cristobal coveted Flowe as much as he did, go to YouTube and search his name. Don’t do this at work, however. If you do, make sure your manager doesn’t catch you wasting company time watching Flowe highlight videos. You will look up 45 minutes later and realize you’ve spent that time watching film and not doing your work.

He is just that captivating on tape. He is nasty, physical, fast and athletic. He plays with swagger and Cristobal did play for “The U.”
