1. Ohio State Buckeyes

The most obvious landing spot for Trey Sermon, to me, is the Ohio State Buckeyes. J.K. Dobbins left for the NFL. Master Teague, albeit talented, is still young. And there’s potential for a revenge game against the Sooners should each team be as successful in 2020 as expected.

The Buckeyes’ wouldn’t necessarily provide the best opportunity for Sermon to get the most touches, in part because of Teague’s stellar 2019 season that saw him total 789 yards on just 135 carries. But it would offer a bigger stage for exposure while giving him a greater opportunity to reach the next level.

I know Oklahoma produces plenty of NFL players, but there’s something about Ohio State that simply churns out NFL talent. And pairing Sermon with not only Teague, but quarterback Justin Fields, is a scary thought. Michigan fans are already getting frightened just imagining it.

Sermon choosing the Buckeyes would solidify their spot at the top of the Big Ten, but also place them as the front-runner to win the College Football Playoff. With Fields returning and a supporting cast that’ll eventually be seen on Sundays, Ohio State is one game-changer away from doing something special in 2020. Trey Sermon is that game-changer.
